@EvanPetzold Dude is 43 and only has so many rounds left in the magazine. Take shots in games that matter. Caddy him with Madden and get Brieske, who hasn't pitched in a week, the work he needs in Toledo.
@papatigermike@Mikerizzo1987 I wouldn't be surprised a bit if he's still here come October. Larkin is a pro and smart enough to know that playing poorly will make it harder for the Wings to deal him.
@nut_history Many games, great park if a little on the blah side. When it was enclosed for the Rams it didn't have much of a baseball feel. Better since they opened it up again. Traffic in Orange County sucks, but it is nowhere near as hard to get in and out of as Dodger Stadium.
@baseballinpix A record that will be broken. Reggie struck out a lot, but not by today's standards. If James Wood (a fine player) appears in as many MLB games as Reggie did, and continues to strike out at the same rate he has so far, he will beat Reggie's mark by over 1,200 Ks.
@beckjason He's 43 and the clock is ticking. Every start he makes is another chance he'll tweak something. Get him to Detroit if he's healthy. Use him or Madden in long relief and get Brieske to Toledo to get some work.
@nut_history Mine was a Wilson Luis Aparicio, looked a lot like this one. A hand me down from my older brother, who didn't use it much. Guessing it became mine in 1963 or 64 when I was 7-8. Stunningly, it did not make me as good as Luis Aparicio even though I wore it completely out.
@TheHockeyNews More effort than I saw in the dozen or so Penn State games I watched. Highly skilled forward who will always get his points. Will have to mature and get a lot stronger to make a difference for his team.
@KeithGave After the fact communication is fine. As to their plans, best GMs talk a good game without saying anything that compromises what they are trying to accomplish. Friendly, quotable, yes. But not truly insightful on the record. Stevie doesn’t seem to care about that.
@the_det_times Not even close. Steve Demeter for Norm Cash. Look it up. Demeter played like 3 total games. Cash was a multiple time All Star, led the AL in batting and HR, won a WS. For nothing.
@papatigermike@DetroitTankCity Wings have steadfastly failed to add players who can protect Larkin from cheap shots & he has played every spring at far less than 100%. Would love to see him play with a true power forward, or further down the lineup where he doesn’t always have a bullseye on his back.
@nut_history He’s maybe the best arm God ever created. He’s nowhere near a top ten “pitcher.” On a given day he was as good as anybody ever. On more days he was erratic and inconsistent. That’s not a “fault.” It’s just what he was.
@TheFrizz87 That's Jim Bunning. Jackson, who wore #46, was a very good pitcher who had 3 solid years for the Phils before retiring. Unfortunately they traded a young Fergie Jenkins to get him.
