I think the left wing is running out of steam culturally. I say this as someone who in his early adolescence was somehow intrigued and absorbed by its aesthetic and identity points (music genres, art, media, fashion, total freedom, drugs, parties, etc.). Now there’s just no proposition. It’s just these weird podcasts with smug women (even politicians) talking disgustingly, gratuitous vulgarity, litter, Latino tribal drums, just being miserable for its own sake. In these terms yes, I think we can say the “real revolution” is rediscovering our ethnocultural continuity, “getting back on track” per se, and yes, this includes critiquing liberalism and reevaluating a more traditionalist way of life. But will we be able to build a right-wing cultural revolution on this basis, that can have the same result in terms of time and lifestyle effects, as the last 80 years of leftism, and be as intriguing so we can activate the real movers of all revolutions: the young? Memes have done a great job in this sense but it cannot end there.
