I’m a proud SF cyclist. Always will be.
But this new diagonal bike lane on 23rd & Valencia is a failure and dangerous.
I was recording because I have a genuine question for @sfmta: what do you expect to happen when the light turns green?
@_fruchtose I am in a 6 unit building two blocks away on Broderick. We have one trashcan, two recycle bins, and two compost bins for 12 residents and it’s fine.
An advocacy group with political clout but no actual advocacy or ideas is actively harmful to effective change.
Is it literally just a staffing issue? Or is there some political nonsense within the org keeping them from having any teeth/backbone?
I just don’t see how this can ever work for kids. No one wants this level of danger. It’s why people opt out. We care that our food is safe, our cribs are safe, toys are safe - we need to challenge the idea that it’s ok for the Government to build death traps.
Why does
SFFD only care about 26' of clearance when it comes to bike lanes? Plenty of SF streets with parking on both sides don't have 26' between the parked cars.
@evolutionarypsy@drvolts 100%, although I’ve found if you experiment with the vinegars some work better than others. Red wine vinegar + dish soap has always worked well for me.
@myles_cooks Totally agree that phones are not optimal for pdf viewing. However, toast’s QR code to order is pure magic. Scan the code, place order without speaking to anyone, food magically appears, then pay at your leisure. For certain restaurants, it’s a big step up in convenience.
JUST IN: After 10 years, the iconic lights on the Bay Bridge are set to go dark this Sunday 💔
The organization that installed and maintained the lights are aiming to raise $11M to bring them back in September: https://t.co/ZAwHugtUqy
