@BBCr4today Discussion on Social Media. A parent says "if only there was a tool we could control our kids phone use". Frustratingly there is. Google and Apple have inbuilt family controls. BUT they are never talked about!!
@ft4s Got to disagree with your experts about the power of the US president to impact the economy. In the short term perhaps yes. In the long term they can do good or a lot of damage.
@DAaronovitch Forgive me if this is already planned but this would be a great subject for the briefing room. Conclusions in this report very interesting for where the UK is going wrong. https://t.co/lh7bxY40p5 plus get @jackdevennay of Gordian Knot on, great perspective from US.
@ftukpolitics You guys were too nice on Rachel Reeves. She cannot get away with saying growth is no 1 government policy and then 1) loading taxes on jobs last year and 2) refusing to take UK into SM and CU.
Evidently it is not no 1 policy and this is the reason why she generates such dislike.
@SamCoatesSky@JoeCookJ There IS a cost free way to grow the economy. It is called entering the single market. But politically Labour have boxed themselves in.
@TheNewsAgents@LeoVaradkar@lewis_goodall Interesting conversation, speaking as someone who looks jealously at Ireland's voting system of STV, I would have loved to hear Leo's thoughts on whether that system is advantageous to Ireland and is one of the underlying reasons why democracy still appears to be working well.
@ftukpolitics iD cards. What is the point....? We have a system it's called Passport or Driving Licence. My 16 yr old just got his provisional driving license, not cause he wants to drive, just to prove his age. A load of waffle and cost basically to divert from the real issues.
@MrHarryCole So, if we had gone ahead with Rwanda, and as a result crossings went down, as Sunak argued they would, you would have called that a failure? Low returns could be because no one was bothering to come knowing they would go straight back........ #BrexitReality
