The Man Who Sold Smears for Forty Years

By 1984 he was in. The Western Morning News. The New Civil Engineer. Then the Telegraph covering Labour from a right-leaning paper, learning the enemy's language. Then the Guardian as chief reporter. Defending her July 2025 post referring to the Israel Defense Forces as "Jewish Defence Force" conflating Jewish community with Israeli military actions. Attacking BBC Question Time host Fiona Bruce for "appalling treatment" of Abbott. The pattern is consistent: protect Labour figures facing legitimate criticism while amplifying smears against opponents.

Then came the grooming gangs scandal. October 2025. Good Morning Britain. Maguire defended Labour's refusal to hold a national inquiry into industrial-scale child sexual exploitation. Emphasized that offenders were "not exclusively Asian" despite documented patterns in Rotherham, Rochdale, Telford, Oxford, and dozens of other towns. Viewers complained. Multiple complaints to ITV.
