Hot-doc:
This week ED released an updated fact sheet on implementing ESEA programs without complete National School Lunch Program (NSLP) data from SY20-21 and SY21-22 and new flexibilities districts can use to ascertain poverty for Title I purposes.
@TitleIGuru@juliam_dc@ddeschryver@EdNCES Increases of that magnitude to Targ. and EFIG make the + of hold harmless provisions for those two streams necessary. LEAs who hover around that 5% # could see GIGANTIC decreases to their allocations from prelim to final. This would have a similar impact upon an LEAโs TIVA $.
Hey #Title I friends. See this article from @juliam_dc on FY 23 allocations. I know we are upon staffing season. Does any one know how a system would know their portion of the 4 grants? @ddeschryver@EdNCES

@MargueriteRoza Not being innovative and just doing what we have always done. ESSER is an opportunity for the landscape of Education to grow in ways we could not imagine 18 months ago. I worry the opportunity for innovation is being missed.
@SPudelski Can districts use some of the funding for infrastructure? You can plan to roll out new program but you need to PK style classroom to put them in.
