Happy CHECKtober , mates! ♟️✨

after a long and stressful day, I decided to finally sit down and explore @AnichessGame. and trust me, it’s nothing like your regular chess game. the addition of spells changes everything, makes it unique, unpredictable, and honestly more fun.

before diving in, I went through the tutorial and chose 3 spells to test:
⊛ slip :- this lets you move a piece diagonally by one square. the cool part is it can’t be captured, and it also steals one mana from your opponent.
⊛ house recruit :- with this, you can summon a pawn on an empty square between the 3rd and 6th rank. it’s like bringing in reinforcements out of nowhere and yes, it counts as a move.
⊛ imposter :- easily my favorite. it allows you to swap one of your pieces with your opponent’s piece of the same type. it feels sneaky but powerful.

now, here’s how it went in the tutorial match:

~ i opened with slip, moving my pawn backward to distract my opponent’s queen. he took the bait, his queen captured it immediately.

~ next, I brought my knight into a tight position, trying to close in on his king. he reacted fast and used his knight to take mine out.

~ things heated up when I used my rook to kill his rook, only for him to instantly retaliate with his other rook on the same line.

~ that’s when I pulled out my final spell, imposter. I swapped my rook with his rook, and that single move flipped the board completely. his king was trapped… checkmate.

and just like that, I cleared the tutorial. what makes anichess so unique is how these spells completely change the rhythm of the game, every move is unpredictable, every setup could be a trap.

it’s chess, but reimagined for a whole new era.
