@KosSamaras@bychero@BinManIan Kos, you know as well as I do that it doesn't matter if people take the train when a station was promised. They were promised something that was, in their eyes, reneged upon. Couple that with our media landscape and the libs in the area muckraking and people are angry.
Treat men who are violent towards women as terrorists. If the latter was killing any Australian every 4 days, the entire army would be mobilised.
Cease trying to treat this problem with the belief you can nurture this out of society. You can’t. They are predators and will always be predators.
I speak from personal experience. I grew up with one, whilst others in my family endured and survived him. He was not stopped via a good sit down and therapy.
The Yes campaign would be in a far better position if it worked with some of the best progressive campaigners in Australia. Not shutting them out.
Like this man.
Premier Dan Andrews begun his explanation (on the Voice) by declaring "you get better outcomes when you listen to people".
"If we listen to Aboriginal people about their babies being sick, about their parents dying decades before they should, about their job opportunities, their education, about their business, about the things that they have the greatest stake in, then we will do better," he said.
"Because you always do better when you listen. Beyond that, I'll just make the point, all of us as taxpayers, we're spending billions of dollars, billions of dollars every year, to fail. These programs are not working.
"There's a better way, and instead of continuing with the proven unsuccessful, incredibly inefficient, costly way, which is telling Aboriginal people how it ought to be. We should do something different. We should listen to them. It's really simple for me.
"That's why I'm voting yes. That's why I hope other Victorians will vote yes, because there's got to be a better way…because we're all sharing in the cost of failure in dollars, and in tragic human terms."
@mgrace@PRGuy17 Every time someone asks for an explanation of the voice, every MP has given simple, succinct information. It's pure Murdoch misinformation that the aim of the referendum is vague, they simply refuse to report what they're told.
Murdoch press announces that the Libs lose because they are not conservative enough.
Lib party members tune in & adopt those views.
They preselect far right candidates.
They adopt minority far right policy positions.
And the rest of Australia sees this & says no.
