@RohanKarMooN People just made fun of him for hyping High guard....everybody makes some mistakes. Besides that he has done a stellar job the last years. His shows are executed flawlessly and are getting bigger year by year.
@horrorvisuals Absolutely amazing show...too much great announcements to talk about.
I agree that Saw was a huge letdown. It looked so cool....why make it a damn 3vs1 multiplayer game?
worked on some sprites these days. haven't posted a lot recently but worked with a friend on a prototype for a few months. we'll post a big update when we have most systems in place.

@onyxicca I get your point when it comes to real life, but what has that to do with games? Nobody ever asked for a "naturally beautiful" girl in a game. There is no natural beauty in games, they are made of polygons, everything is designed intentionally.
It wasn't that much different when it came out. I remember that some asian gamer posted a rework of the main character because he thought she was not pretty after asian beauty standards...and it immediately turned into outrage. Actually it was the first time remember something like that blowing up...
@SuperClayBoi I have never seen these numbers. The jump from 3 to 2018 is insane. 4x in sales? That's impressive. I would have never thought the different games of the main story have such a difference in sales. Thanks for sharing.
@joelcadieu@iamrobtv That's fair. Nobody knows how the final game will turn out...but the purpose of reveals is to get you excited. In an ideal case you are sold and will get the game day1. In this case I will just wait and see...long time to go and will be interesting to see more of the world.
GoW is a much more established IP so of course people are a lot more opinionated...and the spinoff feels very close to the original games.
Control Resonant plays in the same universe, but feels like something completely new. How much they changed the gameplay surprised me a lot more than the choice of character. For me personally it looks a lot more fun to play. I loved the visuals of Control, but thought the gameplay of the first game was a bit meh....so I am happy they don't try to go down the same route again.
Creativity doesn't mean you can do everything....the really tough part about it is to be creative within the boundaries of your IP. Adding this NPC to a GoW game is just an odd choice. I agree that you can do a lot gameplay wise with a character like that, but I would prefer to see a design like this in a different kind of game.
I am not complaining for engagement. It is a high risk move by Sony to make a spinoff like that. Sure, it is just a trailer and not representative for the whole game, but the cube and other aspects set the tone. In a few months we will see how it turns out: Maybe it will be the best thing ever, but it is a valid stance to have doubts.
Because games don't exist in a vacuum. Production quality of this spin-off is high and so is the budget. If Sony expects 1:1 the sales of regular GoW games, they are in trouble. I want them to do well, but Sony has made some pretty bad decisions in the past years and burnt a lot of money on projects that didn't find a big enough audience.
@SavageYoru@aqua_gh0u1@iamrobtv The can do whatever they like with their IPs, but a spin-off that moves away from the main IP will always result in less sales. It is fine if they budget it the right way, but they shouldn't expect sales on the same level as the main games.
@ateneaonsides@aqua_gh0u1@iamrobtv I only played 2018, had fun but it felt like a let down after the insanity of 3. I respect that they wanted to put more focus on storytelling but I enjoyed it a lot less because Kratos changed so much. He was an absolute monster before.
The combat is fine, but I found the shift in tone especially questionable. I liked GoW the most when it was a dark, brutal revenge story (1-3). The newer games already resonated less with me because they lost most it.
This newest entry now shifts the tone completely with cute animals, bright colors and by the addition of the "funny" cube. Just has a vibe that doesn't fit the series at all. If you name it GoW, it should feel similar to the old games. Maybe it finds its audience but they have lost me there.
@xQc_dailyy It is much more than changing the protagonist...if they kept the tone of GoW it could have been interesting. I am usually open to changes. Why add cute animals, pink FX, a "funny" cube? That is not GoW...it is completely missing the point.
@SynthPotato The combat looks fine...but what was Sony thinking? The protagonist choice in one thing, but why add a lot of feminine pink FX, cute animals and a dorky cube? Shifts the whole tone into a very strange direction.
@InternetH0F It is baffling how many bad decisions Sony made in the past years. I was open minded but it doesn't look appealing. Female lead aside...the cover artwork, the cube. It looks kitschy and dorky. What were they thinking? I think that's the next game Sony will lose money on.
@palm_blast@eurogamer Not really. A good example is the crypt....the very first dungeon. I found the way there was way harder than the crypt itself. It was a bit strange.
