I FUCKING HATE DISCORD ROLES

i’m done staying silent. what i’ve been watching is complete bullshit. if you’re thinking about grinding discord roles in 2026, please don’t. put your time into something else

a year ago, blinded by the profits others were making from roles, i decided to dedicate all my free time to getting discord roles. i bought twitter premium, started building my first audience, networking, studying projects, working with ai, drawing art, etc. over time i started earning my first roles. it motivated me, so i kept going and took on more projects

but after a few months, i started realizing how messed up the situation actually is:

– @re shut down their role system and said roles were just cosmetic

funny watching a project that no longer needs its community suddenly pull 2000 views per post. good job

– in the @twinexyz discord moderators literally haven’t written anything for two months

it’s honestly painful watching people keep investing energy into a project where your work isn’t even seen. i constantly hear “they’re building, they don’t have time for discord.” okay. then what’s stopping them from hiring one moderator to review member submissions, answer tickets, run events and support the community? nothing. they just don’t care

– roles can be taken away even if you followed every rule

i already wrote about @RialoHQ removing my role even though i completed the task - filling out a google form. today @magicblock removed my role too. that was the final trigger for this post

you can support a project daily: join morning voice calls, write 50+ posts about it, contribute money to the sale, participate in events and at any moment your role can be removed without explanation. you invest months of your life and it gets reduced to zero. anyway, good luck. hope next time you raise more than 80000$ in the presale ^_^

i also said i got accepted into two ambassador programs. here’s how that went:

just look at their discord chat. that says enough. what’s even funnier is that to become an ambassador, you first have to earn the ambassador role

if you have 50 followers on twitter, congratulations - you can become an ambassador. even when you genuinely try to help grow the project, they can ignore you and give vague answers. i didn’t receive the promotion email despite meeting all the criteria

i just want people who think this is an easy niche to stop being delusional. to get real results here, you have to invest a huge amount of time - time that can later be completely devalued

all of this built up and i decided i’m stepping away from this for now. i’m putting my energy into creativity instead - video editing and music. i’m tired of wearing a hypocrite mask, tolerating unfairness and pretending everything is fine

this is the path i went through over the last year. i don’t want that experience to go to waste. assess the risks, and if you still want to grow in this direction considering everything above - then act consciously

your time is the only real asset you control. spend it wisely
