@matthewshaer @NYTmag I find the argument around engineering/road design much stronger than “everyone’s lost their minds,” which feels pretty anecdotal. Culture may be part of it, but I still like @clmarohn’s explanation that fewer commuters on overbuilt roads leads to more speeding.
