Officers attended the Earth Festival in Manningtree yesterday.

We helped educate the public on biodiversity, fish life and the environment of the river Stour that runs through Essex and Suffolk.

Fisheries Enforcement Officers recently joined partner agencies on the River Chelmer for a day of action.

They talked about a multitude of different topics that affect fishing in the area including the close season.

Whilst on patrol with @EPWildlife, officers had reports of people illegally fishing in the Colchester area.

Three people were stopped and searched, and fishing equipment was seized.

Two people were reported for no fishing licence and theft offences.

Don't forget it’s Close Season for coarse fishing on rivers ⚠️

This means it's illegal to fish for coarse fish in rivers until 15th June inclusive.
