@Mike_Woellert Also why they’ll start w Bynum running the dot. First time team captain. Earned it. Always in the field and in the right place. By midseason it’ll be CJ and ADG and eventually Bryce won’t be able to be kept off the field. Best instincts of the group. Wohler will get box reps too

@Mike_Woellert I think the reality is the staff badly wants CJ starting and running the show. But he tied their hands being hurt. Can’t preach competition and “earning” it and then hand it to someone who wasn’t out there. I expect the early nod to ADG and Carlies as they mix CJ in.

@Mike_Woellert I know he had some post-draft analysis questioning his size, strength and ability to take on and shed blocks. But one of the high points was his instincts and recognition and he is showing those are elite. Also, Gumbs has been a nice surprise and makes that play setting the edge.

@Noahp245 with Roch and Emerson both represented by the same people / agency, this seems odd. emerson arguably has more leverage since he can play the "i'll go to college" route. roch has less leverage. unless the agency is using one of them to find a preferred landing spot for the other.

@droppedballs_fb Gallimore played 395 of his 466 snaps at 3T and another 40 at 5T. Gallimore only played 31 snaps at 1T. So Wooden playing 3T/5T is exactly our Gallimore replacement.

@ZachHicks2 Super curious who amongst that core of players you think deserves the venom and should be bounced. Because I believe the 2021 core is Pitt, JT, Q, Braden, Buck, Kenny, Zaire, Grove, Pinter, Dulin and Mo. Basically time to move on from all the 4 core defenders?

@ForTheCOLTure_J @ColtsInTX Sad but true man. Although I could say the same about Jones.....this makes 6 of 7 seasons for him not playing a full season I believe. He was averaging 11 games a year before this season with only one full season. Not the ideal recipe for success. Stinks.

@SharpFootball colts fan here, but ppl had to know this was probable. They paired Jones and his 70 games in 6 seasons (one full season out of 6 with an average of 5 missed games per year) with AR who played in 15 of 34. It felt highly likely they’d both get hurt and at the same time. Sadly.

@derek_larger Annnnnd by the time the higher years come due from 2027 and out there’s zero dead cap if it doesn’t work. Basically gettin him free for the rest of 2025 and then 3 yrs, $57M after. Then in 29 and 30 you have essentially two option years at $36M each.

Was the cost for Sauce steep? Yes. Was it worth it? Yes. Ward and Sauce outside gives so much flexibility to the defense. Ward doesn’t have to track the opposing best wr everywhere. Can play to what is the best matchup no matter who you face. And the contract structure is good.

@LuckAtLuke Isn’t ward making around $20M for cap purposes and sauce now around $10M? I’ll gladly pay $30M in cap space for those two if so. Unless the contract breakdowns are off. I didn’t think the bigger combined hits would be until 2027
