@SOCALORIGINAL@td_nash They get credit for making the finals, just not more credit than winning the title. Plus MJ retired in the middle of their dynasty. Could have been 8 in 8 years for the Bulls. In terms of LeBron’s 8 straight the East was statistically the weakest it’s ever been during that time.
This is a bit of a false tax narrative. If your taking a massive loan against your assets your paying a fee/interest to a bank, which is generating income. The bank is then paying taxes on that income, thus generating income taxes. It’s an expensive way to get liquidity and usually just done when liquidating a major portion of a company has numerous, none tax, negative effects.
Sat next to Harrison Barnes on a southwest flight back to the Bay Area before his rookie seasons. We were both in the exit row and nobody on the flight knew who he was including me. He was in gym shorts, and I figured he was a high school player. We started talking hoops, including my not so distinguished Division Three career. I brought up the warriors upcoming season and that there might some hope with the young core they put together….. eventually he says “I am that Harrison Barnes guy” in the nicest way. After that conversation I was always routing for him. I hope he can make some corner threes this time in the finals and keeps giving these young Spurs some veteran perspectives.
@zenkaixbt Hard to see a rally with all the Ai / SpaceX IPO’s coming. Lots of cash being collected for those opportunities. Feels like a few months off on the next rally.
@BuzzPatterson True, but all the greats have awesome highlight reels. Jordan has the highest PER in nba history, 6 rings in almost half the seasons as LeBron (4), and always showed up on the biggest stage with 6-0 finals record…. That’s why he is the GOAT!
@YIN_and_YANG_oo I have always argued the Shaq had the second highest peak greatness to Jordan. While Kareem and LeBron clearly have the longest sustained greatness.
@s3mcewan@CryptidPolitics Laughing my ass off here. So true what a shit organization. Now you have your former coach and former point guard in the finals as well.
@JustinMacmahan Actually Jordan was statically better on a per seasons basis based on PER. Additionally he won 50% more titles on almost half as many seasons.
I love this series. You can talk yourself into a blow out either way. I think Knicks are a tougher matchup for the Spurs, but the Spurs were the second best team in the regular season. I think the Spurs have improved more than the Knicks since their last meeting, but the Knicks peaked at the right time. Should be a great series.
@EYakoby Blue / Red loyalty is all that matters these days. Voters just vote for their party despite the results achieved by elected officials. Blind allegiance on both sides.
@spencerpratt@gatorgar Let’s hope the people can still beat the established political parties. It seems we are locked into this awful two party system that just leads to fighting and corruption.
@spencerpratt My experience after 17 years in San Francisco is the homelessness was from mental illness and sever drug addiction. I think it’s important to also address the mental illness challenges as part of your plan.
@dgt10011 The most important part of the system is mobility between the bottom and the top. We need to focus on ensuring an opportunity for people to move up based on reasonable achievements, and not structural keeping people on the bottom tiers. People have to believe mobility is real!
