Just got back home after winning(!) the @YoungWriterYear. A passenger overheard my missus and me talking on the train and then the whole carriage full of lovely & absolutely hammered randoms took turns holding the award and shaking my hand. One of the best nights of my life!🙏🖤
Camilla, you are the host of a national syndicated television show and have a newspaper column; your views are representative of practically the entire ruling class of the Western Hemisphere
I know it’s become pretty cliche and cringey to talk about at this point but if you’re under like 25 I cannot stress enough how one time Obama wore a tan suit and people spent a week arguing over whether or not it was demeaning to the Oval Office and they were serious about it.
You guys are such cliches. He has no idea what he's wearing. He's buttoned both buttons on a two button jacket, which is basically never acceptable. He's wearing a tie pin with a waistcoat. The collar is wrong and it's unbuttoned. Combining 1920s hair with a Victorian moustache is gauche. He looks like a waiter at a try-hard artisanal cocktail place in 2014.
I didn’t post about this yesterday, so let me just say, this doesn’t undo 60 years of contributions to the cinematic arts as both an artist and an advocate, but it does really, REALLY suck
“People waited for the next Dostoevsky installment like we wait for the next TV episode" is a point about distribution, not cognition. The medium still matters. Reading is an act of interpretation; television is primarily an act of reception. Please people read Neil Postman.
My guess: at 83, they gave his family a gang of money (they throw tens of millions left&right) he wanted the income stream4them& feels like "AI" will fall on its face anyway, so he doesnt give a fuck
If that's not the case, extrafuck him. Separately, go see I Love Boosters today
