🏆 Adesola Ogunniyi, M.D., is the 2026 recipient of the Bengt Winblad Lifetime Achievement Award in Alzheimer’s Disease Research. Dr. Ogunniyi is an Emeritus Professor of Medicine at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
Dr. Ogunniyi's work in Africa focusing on cross-cultural studies spans four decades and has led to the documentation of the burden of dementia, identification of vascular risk factors, and gene-environment interactions in Africa.
Dr. Ogunniyi is a member of the @WorldDementia Council & the Global Council on Brain Health. His current work focuses on bringing together researchers and groups in a multidisciplinary framework to enhance dementia science, care and control in Africa. @UniIbadan
