Canadians have suffered enough through this trade war. Businesses need certainty, families are already paying more, and piling tariffs on top of tariffs only adds to the damage.
Yes, Canada has to defend its interests. But the end goal has to be a deal with our largest trading partner, not an endless trade war.
Enough speeches. Enough tariffs. Get the deal done.
When Carney receives his standing ovations at the EU’s annual State of the Union address & European Parliament for defying Trump, will anyone in the room think about the repercussions for Cdns? Not a chance.
Absolutely.
Canadians don’t realize how hard this is going to hurt small companies and entrepreneurs. I had a marketing services company for 30 years. 60 employees and 40% of our revenue was in the US.
Not a chance we would have been able to manage around these tariffs. We would have been cooked. My line of credit at the bank (guaranteed by my home) would have been pulled my suppliers would have tightened our payment terms.
We’d be shut down in 2-4 months.
Why is Canada reviving military dialogue with Communist China?

To be precise, the 2013 Canada–China Cooperation Plan is a non-binding arrangement not a mutual-defence pact.
But China is the principal strategic competitor of our NORAD ally,
..while Washington’s Trump Corollary seeks to curb hostile foreign influence throughout the Western Hemisphere.
So what exactly is Ottawa’s strategy?
Cooperation against whom ?..
and at what cost to Canada’s most important security relationship?
@JasminLaine Incentives are one thing. Access to the US market is another. You can give all kind of incentives but if the path to US market is limited they won’t invest in Canada. Just ask Stellantis.
@JayGenXer We are in for a lot of hurt. Elbows up is going to hurt so many small businesses. I feel bad for them. They don’t have a chance to survive.
Oh and let’s buy Canadian…. Ok no more Costco, Amazon, Walmart, Netflix, MacDonalds, Starbucks…. We are doomed.
We’re calling for CBC’s Basem Boshra to be fired after reporters were told not to call 9/11 a “terrorist attack.”

@GasPriceWizard I can’t listen to the drivel anymore from both CBC and CTV. There is no journalistic integrity. All a bunch of cheer leaders.
Give them some pom-poms.
