@the_aussie_game That sort of feels to me like he's being safe, playing the ball back to Beach and Souttar. Also looking at his heatmap vs Circati's, he barely goes over the halfway line. I'm guessing it's mostly because we just weren't pushing down the left, but genuinely curious what I missed.
@the_aussie_game Yeah for sure! I feel like I must be wrong given the public consensus, I just dunno how. Looking at the stats, Souttar had 6 passes into the final third, Circati had 9, Herrington had 1. Fewest long balls with the lowest accuracy but similar touches and high pass accuracy.
@the_aussie_game I'm starting to doubt I know anything about football - I thought Herrington struggled a fair bit. Haven't seen anyone agree but I felt like his short passing was sideways and backwards, he didn't really offer himself as a passing option and he booted the ball forward a few times.
So-called "big" teams at the World Cup are quick to say they're expecting a "physical" match with lower-ranked opponents. (wink, wink)
A clever message aimed at the referees: pay close attention to their tackling, it's illegal.
The result? Star-struck official blowing the pea out of the whistle every time one of the so-called minnows gets within touching distance of a famous shirt, while similar challenges from favourites are waved on.
Why do you guys have to be so annoying about everything? Brazil has won the World Cup 5 times, and even they don’t talk like this. You are playing well and have won a few games, just celebrate with your team and country normally like everyone else. My goodness.
@johny_christ97@PeterBent565@ghostdog310 Ohhhh this is just your first time watching football? Okay so those 6 goals - 4 of them came in another game! Would you like me to show you how addition works too?
The seppos are so odd man because why are they in every Oz fans replies arguing over ref decisions hours after the game, you won 2 clear lads, just enjoy it n let us have a whinge 😭
Weird how triggered the Americans get by discussions around the ref! You can have a good performance and have the ref on your side, plenty of home games are like that. Most soccer fans can see where they’ve gotten away with one, but seems like a case of country-wide fragile ego.
Using still frames instead of actual video footage tells you all you need to know about this breakdown.
What a bunch of cry babies.
Go pet a wombat or something.
So, three clear cut pens denied. A fourth one not even looked at. A DOGSO red card ignored. Once a cheat, always a cheat. Referees who have been caught taking bribes should not be anywhere near the world cup. #USAAUS#FIFAWorldCup
@VinceRugari Horrific decisions from Poppa, Vince, but also a horrific refereeing performance? What did you think of the two possible pens, and the offside interference for the 2nd goal?
My England v Croatia ticket was £199, chatting to some American guys at the moment and they think I must have won the ticket on some sort of poverty raffle because they can't wrap their head around how "cheap" it is.
One guy paid $1500 for the very last row, top of the stadium for a college game.
Surely this isn't supply and demand, it's saying "I can, you can't"?
And of we're not careful, coming to a Premier League ground near you....
🗣️🎙️| Roy Keane on Westham goal disallowed:
“The decision itself shouldn’t be the issue because it was the correct call, but Arsenal have been awarded goals like that several times this season, and I could clearly remember the one against United.”
The inconsistency in Premier League refereeing is becoming an absolute disgrace. It happens almost every match now, and something seriously needs to be done about it.
There wouldn’t have been this much outrage from fans if Arsenal hadn’t benefited from similar goals all season. That’s where the frustration comes from.”
Foul by Todibo but not by Pablo; Raya gets himself stuck under Pablo. Key problem is Arsenal get away with this crap all the time, but when they have a claim VAR always makes sure to micro-analyse the footage to find the foul.
