So proud of the generous support in the #CityofPG for the #RobsonValleyRegion. The Food Drive was a big success and it will make a difference for Robson Valley Community Services and the #ValemountBC Food Bank. These organizations supported local residents and Jasper evacuees, so it was important to refill the shelves.

Special shout out to Don, David, Wood Wheaton and Save On Foods for being amazing partners and helping make this happen. It will make a difference!

The impacts of the #JasperWildfire will be felt for a long time. While Highway 16 remains closed east bound from Mount Robson, local businesses and tourism operations remain open in the Robson Valley Region, including in #Valemount #McBride #Dunster, #DomeCreek #TeteJaune.

Summer tourism is critical in these communities. So please know that there is a lot to do including at Mount Robson. The visitors centre, store, restaurant are all open. The trail to Kinney Lake is open, as are many campsites, whitewater rafting, farmers markets and more.

Let’s show our support for this incredible part of British Columbia.

Have been checking in on communities along Highway 16 and 5. Valemount, McBride and Prince George all have facilities open to welcome and support evacuees. Volunteers worked through the night to care for people arriving from Jasper. Extremely grateful!
