It is not lost on me that I am a relatively young Black man performing a service for predominantly older White and Asian people (because that is where the wealth is concentrated — both domestically and globally). My beloved grandfather, Henry, who suffered through the terrorism and tyranny of Jim Crow, would be pleasantly surprised by @42Macro if he were alive today. The integration of our peoples is a result of the proliferation of God’s Holy Spirit throughout our society. That guided the work of wonderful allies that have made the advancement of Black people in American society possible.

“Racism” was an easy scapegoat when I was suffering through intense poverty and intermittent homelessness throughout the first ~half of my life. That was misguided of me. Most people are not racist. Most people just want the same things for their family — freedom, health, and wealth — as we want for ours.

There is still work to be done. It is easy to be lured into a false sense of security when you see the success of people like me or our friends @cvpayne, @GordonJohnson19, and @Ksidiii. It is easy to forget that Black people in this country essentially joined a game of Monopoly™️ that was being played for hundreds of years prior to us being allowed to join. There were hardly any properties left to buy or monies left to buy them with because, well, that’s how the game of Monopoly™️ works. Try joining a game of Monopoly™️ four hours late at home and let me know how you fare…

I personally do not believe we will ever meaningfully narrow the MASSIVE racial wealth gap because of this unfortunate reality and because of what Albert Einstein called the “eighth wonder of the world” — i.e., compound interest. I am, however, encouraged by the sheer number of non-Black people that are committed to producing a more just society. Capitalism works better when there is more capital to be deployed, insomuch that America is at its best when everyone has access to the American Dream. 🇺🇸

Thank you and God bless to each and every one of you for supporting my dream, which is a mere derivative of THE American Dream dreamt by Dr. King a mere two generations ago. Love [always] wins. ❤️
