Over 15 years on this site but this is my last post since too many lines have been crossed. I stayed longer than some to access useful information but I will now focus on bluer skies. Holding on to hope and continuing the fight 💙
SUNDAY RANT:
I was on call today.
100% of the patients seen had a respiratory infection
...some had COVID-19.
ER's are overwhelmed.
Hospital beds are at 200% capacity.
And yet -
MASKS ARE STILL NOT REQUIRED in primary care settings.
We @OntarioNDP have called for the REVERSAL of Premier Fords elimination of wastewater testing! Last summer, Ford slashed an inexpensive testing that helped guard us against multiple diseases. Investing in this testing would help keep our communities safe! https://t.co/ariBMUgMKM
@DrGorfinkel My newborn son had to briefly go to the NICU after birth (just for a planned test), and there was a hand washing station with lots of signs mandating hand hygiene but no mask requirement and staff not wearing them. How does that protect vulnerable lungs? I almost lost it
Our education system is in crisis thanks to Doug Ford’s cuts, then the government turns around and blames teachers and education workers for burning out and getting injured on the job. It’s time to show some respect and start funding the system properly. #onted#onpoli
A larger crowd showed up today to protest Trump’s presidency than were there for his last inauguration. In cold weather. They didn’t erect gallows, they didn’t break doors and windows. They didn’t smear feces on walls. This is what a peaceful protest looks like.
Ontario's hospitals are currently operating at a dangerously high 97.6% bed occupancy rate, well above the optimum 85%. High occupancy compromises patient & staff safety, with delays in admitting patients from ER, increased risk of infections, and higher stress among workers
