With today’s launch of NIGHT as a Cardano Native Asset (CNA), we’re officially kicking off the countdown to redemptions for the more than 4.5B tokens claimed during the Glacier Drop and Scavenger Mine phases.

This marks the first step in bringing NIGHT to the community as we continue progressing toward a fully decentralized Midnight mainnet.

Redemption windows will open in phases (“thaws”). The redemption portal will launch shortly beforehand to allow people to preview their allocations and thawing schedules ahead of time.

A great day and evening yesterday, hosted by @midnightfdn.

The concept, essentially plug and play privacy network for all chains, is a fascinating idea.

The question is, can they pull this off?

I spent a lot of time last night with people behind the scenes, from the law department, to the finance department, HR and even the CEO. I honestly have nothing but good things to say at this point. They were welcoming, fun and extremely professional at the same time.

I came to this event with some skepticism and frustration around how us as $XRP holders didn’t feel fully included in the airdrop. However, I’ll be leaving with optimising and excitement around what they’re building at @MidnightNtwrk

PS it’s nice to see how excited @IOHK_Charles is about this project. The energy was brilliant
