Why did I choose to work specifically with blue-collar business owners? There are a lot of advisors, but you rarely hear them mention this group. What you usually hear is just, "business owners."
@bradpputt A client that showed tons of red flags 4 months ago is about to let me go. I thought it was me for a second. No, it’s them.
Sometimes we just keep moving
Thank you for the event @ryanraysr
I took a client down to the mixer, even leaving early, it was 1000% worth it. I would never meet people like I did today in my hometown. Get out and bump shoulders!
Climber accepted my job offer.
November 1st I will be a 2 crew company officially.
Need 2 more OBS powerstrokes now.
Kind of living the dream right now.
Hiring cool dudes to work with and buying cool older trucks to run my business out of.
I have a buyer looking for a Florida excavation company. Anything from a single operator to a 20-40 person crew. It doesn't need to be profitable.
Please help me connect him with the correct people!
Presence is a present.
We’re always responding, checking, texting, scrolling.
It’s easy to be somewhere physically while our attention is somewhere else.
I recently met with a very successful CEO who has a simple rule: no phone or computer in meetings.
A notebook. A pen. His full attention.
He leads a business generating hundreds of millions in revenue, and he makes a point to fully engage with the person sitting across from him.
That stuck with me. I see distractions everywhere, and I give in to them more often than I’d like.
Being fully present is something I’m working on, both at home and in business.
This past weekend, I had a quick 24 hours with my daughter who’s away at college.
I wanted to soak in our time together.
My phone came out for this picture, directions, and reservations.
The rest could wait.
Being present helps us focus and get things done.
It also communicates something to the people we’re with:
“You matter. This time matters.”
Our distraction can send a different message, even when that isn’t our intention.
The next time you reach for your phone to “check something quick,” consider what deserves your attention in that moment.
Especially who.
