Despite the difficult conditions of dirty water and poor visibility, Karapetyan bravely dived in and used his legs to break open the trolleybus's back window.
With great determination, he saved 46 out of the 92 passengers, rescuing 20 lives. But the cold water and broken glass caused many cuts on Karapetyan's body, and he had to stay in the hospital for 45 days.
He faced more problems like pneumonia and sepsis. Although he eventually recovered, the damage to his lungs meant he couldn't continue his successful swimming career.
"I knew I could only save a limited number of lives. I was scared of making mistakes. It was so dark down there that I could hardly see anything. Once, I accidentally grabbed a seat instead of a person during a dive. I could have saved a life instead. That memory still haunts me in my nightmares," he said.
In 1985, Karapetyan came across a burning building where several people were trapped. Without hesitation, he bravely entered the building and started rescuing the people inside. Unfortunately, he suffered severe burns during the rescue and had to go to the hospital again.
‼️THE FIRST REVIEW of tonight’s Amsterdam Christmas Special! I have just sent it to all the crew – and thank you to the brilliant writer @MarianneLevy

Shoutout to everyone old enough to remember before mobile phones, when you’d say to a friend “meet me outside Woolworths at midday tomorrow” and then, without further communication, you’d both just show up there.
I am afraid to tell you that my dear, lovely Nell died last night. She was diagnosed with cancer in June ( which is why she barely appeared on tv) and went rapidly downhill in the past few weeks. She is buried in the garden next to Nigel.
My concern was more the outrageous demand that people *must* take the vaccine and multiple boosters to do anything at all. That was messed up.
Until the Supreme Court invalidated Biden’s exec order, SpaceX and many other companies would have been forced to fire anyone who refused to get vaccinated!
We would not have done so. I would rather go to prison than fire good people who didn’t want to be jabbed.
As for myself, I got original Covid before the vaccine was out (mild cold symptoms) and had to get three vaccines for travel. The third shot almost sent me to hospital.
How many other people out there have symptoms that are actually from the vaccine or Covid treatment, rather than Covid itself?
As for those who didn’t take any vaccine, well @DjokerNole just won a record number of grand slams …
It’s not like I don’t believe in vaccines – I do. However, the cure cannot be potentially worse than the disease. And public debate over efficacy should not be shut down.
There is also great potential for curing many diseases using synthetic mRNA, so let’s not throw the baby out with the bath water.
@GBNEWS@mrmarkdolan But what we're seeing, right now, is foreign owned media elite, pretending to care about Britain but trying to manipulate a culture war to destroy British public owned services so that global interests can profit.
Not a single new reservoir has been built in the UK since 1991 despite the population increasing by 10 million during that time. But when there are water shortages this summer, it'll be due to climate change 🤔
The UKs national minimum wages are being increased tomorrow by at least 9.7%. Yet up to 500,000 on minimum wage are actually receiving less than they should. It you're on min wage do read to check (and feel free to share with anyone it's relevant to) https://t.co/wjSqfOqN7F
@GBNEWS More likely something sanctioned by the Gov to scare people - on the other hand with the lack of moral values in the country where anything goes, it would not surprise me that a wake up call is sent by the Almighty to remind us who is in control but everyone would feel it .
Rare and extremely impressive cold in China 🇨🇳 right now. Jingtao AWS just broke the all-time national cold record for China with an astonishing -53.0°C (-63.4°F).
Previous cold record stood at -52.3°C since 13 February 1969.
