Kaiser Permanente is a healthcare “non-profit” that reported $4.5 billion in profit for Q1 & Q2 this year, while paying its workers poverty wages.
Your reminder:
👉🏻 Strikes are supposed to be disruptive.
👉🏻 Strikes benefit all workers.
Shana White is a cardiac monitor tech at Kaiser Permanente.
After a 12-hour shift she still joined her union on the picket line.
She says management told them there was no money for bonuses. Then workers found out that the bosses got their bonuses, and tried to keep it secret.
Today, 75,000 Kaiser Permanente workers walked off the job, becoming the largest healthcare strike in US history.
I stand in solidarity with them in their fight. ✊🏾
The healthcare “non-profit” Kaiser Permanente reported $4.5B in Q1 & Q2 profit, pays its CEO $15.6M/year, & pays its workers poverty wages.
Now 75,000 employees are going on strike. I stand with Kaiser employees because a living wage is a human right.❤️✊🏽
Sweet senior Gadzooks has been waiting 6 months for a home. He may not have the lushest coat, a mouth full of teeth, or the best posture, but his heart is still young.
And just like every cat that enters our doors, he is still deserving of a home.
Perhaps now more than ever.
@Kyle_MacLachlan Ah, you've met an Alligator lizard, I see! As a kid I kept one in a terrarium for a while and to show it to people I'd just let it bite my thumb and I'd carry it around dangling onstinately by the jaws. I'm certain it believed it was in fact killing me.
Tick, tock: "We are 33 hours away from the largest healthcare workers strike in U.S. History and Kaiser is negotiating intensely… with Kaiser!" https://t.co/UBomTBvWqH
@tslycha No trauma Olympics. Trauma doesn't have to be compared to someone else's trauma to be valid. I don't know if that helps, but sending you good wishes.
Connolly: "Shouldn't we concerned about all those Biden towers all over the world where foreign partnerships were formed and influence was used here in the US? I've seen these towers in Indonesia, in the Philippines, in Turkey. I've even seen one in Chicago."
