@DannyMagazu @sfboehner it's been awhile since i've been in any of the credit bureau sites but you used to be able to find the account and see any negative credit dings. then you can challenge it. the bureau sends the report to bofa and they have to respond to it.

you can do this through the credit agencies online. If the creditor doesn't respond within X days, the agencies will remove it. since the account is in good standing they may not respond. if they do, send another. option 2 is call the bank, offer to pay it off in full if they remove the negative history.
