Today I expanded my role as a Senior Editor at @MPMIjournal a little bit 😄
I spent a few hours walking through the posters at #PlantHealth2026, and whenever I came across a study that I thought would be a great fit for the journal, I left an invitation to submit 👏
There is so much outstanding science being presented here, and I hope to see many of these exciting projects make their way into the journal!
We want your science at @plantdisease journals 💪

Today I’m reflecting on a journey I could never have imagined: from #Bosnia to #Tennessee, from surviving war to becoming a full professor @UTKnoxville. And tonight, my two countries meet in a #WorldCup2026 qualifier - Bosnia vs. USA. What a bittersweet, beautiful moment. 🇧🇦🇺🇸
@LabNowicki delivered an excellent presentation on extensive research related to Vascular Streak Dieback (VSD) at the @IUFROdivision7 conference in Athens, 🇬🇷.
VSD is an emerging, destructive fungal disease caused by Ceratobasidium spp., affecting over 50 ornamental species.
As always, @ClinicPlant director, Romina Gazis, gave an excellent talk focused on #laurelwilt in #avocado and the efforts they are making to control this pretty aggressive disease that affects so many plant species in the Lauraceae family, including avocado.

@IreneBarnes19 from @Fabiteam1 did a great job opening our Wednesday morning session at the @IUFROdivision7 conference in Athens 🇬🇷, discussing research efforts on Ceratocystis species in Africa.
Great start to the @IUFROdivision7 conference in Athens, Greece, focusing on #forest#pathology. We started our meeting with a field trip & learning about Canker Stain Disease caused by Ceratocystis platani.
The best part is catching up with old and new friends.
