@TheTeslaLife I think 3 and Y are cool cars (I drive a Y) but part of their coolness comes from being the same brand as extremely cool cars (Roadster, S, X). Had Tesla just started with 3 & Y, it wouldn’t be what it is today (at least yet).

@TheTeslaLife I disagree with “misstep”. Even if it caused more issues than it was worth on an individual vehicle level, it contributed to Tesla’s brand. This is integral to the adoption of Tesla & EV’s in general, so I’d argue that these less profitable cars contributed to the success of 3&Y.

The premise of your tweet was that IF they had a 35% margin and they dropped their prices by 20% they could not still have 20% margin. You clearly did not think out your tweet and initially thought that the math would be 35%-20%=15%
