Alex Eala will not face sanctions from the WTA after skipping the mandatory China Open to represent the Philippines at the 2026 Asian Games, according to Philippine Tennis Association executive director Tonette Mendoza.

The confirmation came during the Senate Committee on Sports hearing, following concerns over possible penalties for Eala's decision to prioritize national team duties.
