🚨Brighton head coach FABIAN HÜRZELER on what he told Mikel Arteta during the match.
🎙️Reporter: “Fabian, what did you say to Mikel Arteta immediately after Brighton scored the second goal?”
🗣️Hürzeler: “I walked straight to him and told him: ‘Your team is not good enough. I’m sorry, but this is not the Arsenal people were talking about last season.’
“Last season, you had everything going your way. The officials were always there when you needed them. You got decisions, you got moments, and somehow you ended up winning the league.
“But today? No excuses. No referee to hide behind. No controversial decision to save you. Just football.
“And what we saw today is the real difference between our teams. My players came here to play football. Arsenal came here hoping the game would somehow go their way.
“I told Arteta, ‘This season will be different. You cannot depend on officiating forever. If you want to be champions again, you have to actually play like champions.’
“After the second goal, I looked at him and said, ‘This is what happens when there is no one helping you. Your team gets exposed.’
“And honestly, I think Arsenal fans know exactly what I mean.”
🎙️REPORTER: “So you genuinely believe Arsenal only won the league because of officiating?”
🗣️HÜRZELER: “I’m saying today there was nowhere to hide. We were simply better.”
2 - 50 teams have received a red card as the visiting team at Old Trafford in the Premier League, but only two have won: Everton in November 2025 and Manchester City today, with Iliman Ndiaye on the winning side both times.
Charm.
10 - Manchester City are the first visiting team to win 10 times at Old Trafford in the Premier League.
10 - Manchester City
8 - Liverpool
6 - Arsenal, Chelsea
Dreamers.
It’s worth highlighting that @manutd only passed @mancity’s top flight tally during the late 90s when City were at their lowest point. Prior to that Utd couldn’t match City’s record. History, but not as we’re told it.
🚨 Alan Shearer on Erling Haaland reaching 300 club goals:
🗣️ Shearer: “I sometimes listen to the conversations around Haaland and think we’ve completely lost our minds.
People will tell you he only had this many touches, he didn’t create enough chances, he needs to be more involved in the build-up. Okay. Then somebody crosses the ball into the penalty area and there’s a defender practically hanging off him, and somehow Haaland is still the one heading it into the net.
That’s his job.
I watched the goal today and I’m not even sure Semenyo has to look up and think, ‘I need to put this exactly on Erling’s head.’ With some strikers you have to find them. With Haaland, put a good ball into the area and he’ll try to find you.
That sounds simple until you remember every defender knows exactly what he’s trying to do.
They know he wants to get across them. They know he wants the space between centre back and goalkeeper. They know if the ball goes into that area he’s probably attacking it.
And he still gets there.
That’s what 300 goals tells you.
There was another moment today where he gets contact in the box and could probably make much more of it. He stays up and carries on trying to get to the ball.
I like that about him. His first thought always seems to be, ‘Can I still score?’ Not, ‘Can I get a penalty here?’
People can debate whether he’s the most complete striker, whether he should touch the ball more, whether he should create more. Those are fair conversations.
But he’s now scored against 24 of the 25 Premier League teams he’s faced. The only one left is Sunderland, and unfortunately for Sunderland, he plays them in two weeks.
At some point you stop asking what else a goalscorer should be doing and appreciate that you’re watching somebody who has made scoring goals look far more normal than it actually is.”
What a mean-spirited first edition of Daily Mail tonight, including their grandest public school educated columnist - the King’s official biographer no less - sent up to Lucy Powell’s Manchester state school to take the piss and poke holes… should we not celebrate her rise? These people have no idea what it is like to be an outsider like she was… so what if she made an error in her grammar… for heaven’s sake…
Guardiola: “Just one more thing before you go home to take some beers or wines, if the next years if you find my in the streets here, in Europe, or in the states or wherever, and you are a City fan, come to me and hug me.”

We want to thank him for using his platform to speak out against human rights abuses while working here in the UK.

I have no recollection of the media or the BBC assidiously grubbing around in trash cans (metaphorically speaking) to discredit any of the above.
Boris Johnson opens up very sore Covid wounds again on #Partygate hoping to scapegoat Sue Gray.
Je allowed govt to party as we were locked down, losing loved ones without saying goodbye. He’s an utter bastard and totally beyond contempt.

There is an argument that kyle should have been allowed to get back into shape.
What i can guarantee is.
A directive will go out to all Referees first thing Monday morning saying.
If you call a defender to you then you must not start the game until they are back into shape.
🚨 Rodri is now unbeaten in his last 7️⃣2️⃣ matches in all competitions, the most ever for a player in Premier League history!
