Again— if we were observing all of this occurring in another nation, would there be any question about whether there had been resolution to the conflict or would we rightly recognize the nation as still being in the midst of an unfolding insurrection & possible civil war?

Can’t say there’s been peaceful transfer of power when:

-there’s ongoing military occupation at Capitol
-ppl involved in coup plot are still embedded in military & police forces
-govt officials still undermining election
-dictator they tried to install is still lying in wait

Capitol police saying they were aware of the threat of violence aimed at Congress & “failed to adequately prepare” is literally saying they didn’t do the primary thing they are tasked with doing. Again—nothing is secure rn & there has been no peaceful transfer of power.
