The Georgia Department of Public Safety is saddened to announce the line-of-duty death of Trooper First Class Chase Redner #290. TFC Redner was investigating a vehicle crash on Interstate 75 North near Mt. Zion Boulevard in Clayton County when he was struck by another vehicle.

This afternoon, a KHP Trooper's patrol vehicle was struck while assisting a motorist on I-70 in Saline County. Our Trooper is currently alert and conscious; however, he was initially trapped inside his vehicle. This is always a scary scenario that could have been much worse.
