@Michael_Cerami If you weren’t old enough to suffer through the 1985 Cubs’ season, you are now getting a chance to feel that pain! Welcome to the club.
@_TheBBQBarn PCA was entitled to the base due to the walk, but the fielder made contact with the player w/out allowing the player to take the bag. Could you make an argument that this is fielder interference? Could players push runners w/ their glove & contest runners from taking the base?
@SalatapNagol15@CubsGuy37@aaronsnearly Look dummy, you are delusional. In 2022, Schwarber LED the league with 46 home runs and recorded an .827 OPS (also 10-11 stealing bases since you don’t seem impressed with power) and helped his team go to the WS. You are obviously a troll b/c no one could be that dense.
@felixwill77@CubbiesOnTap@tomofwrigley 11 HRs in 59 games. It was the COVID year. He was also having a great season 40 games in when he went into a slump for the last 19 games and ONLY ended up with an .OPS of .701 after having an .871 OPS for a full season the year before (and .928 the year after).
@SalatapNagol15@CubsGuy37@aaronsnearly 2002? You are referring to his 55 ABs (plus 15 walks) with 6 HR, 10 RBI, and a .937 OPS. I can see why those stats seem unsustainable because they were so GOOD!
@SalatapNagol15@CubsGuy37@aaronsnearly Right, one stat - OPS (which includes his ability to get on base & slug). You could look at OPS+ if you want to compare him to other hitters (he has ranged from 121 to 159) the last 6 seasons (including the later seasons that you claim he was almost DFAed in). You’re ridiculous.
@SalatapNagol15@CubsGuy37@aaronsnearly You claim Schwarber was “almost released” in years where he made the all-star team and put up great numbers. Your lack of credibility begins and ends there, buddy.
@SalatapNagol15@aaronsnearly@CubsGuy37 You really aren’t living in reality. Schwarber has OPS of .823 in 2018, .871 in 2019, he was at .800 until the last 19 game slump on 2020 and ended up at .701, followed that up in 2021 w/ a .928 OPS (all-star), .827 in 2022 (all-star), followed by .817, .851, .928 (AS), 972 now.
@SalatapNagol15@aaronsnearly@CubsGuy37 So you agree that Jed made the wrong decision on Schwarber and he didn’t play poorly his last 1.5 yrs as a Cub (in fact, just his last 20 games of the 2020 season). Jed shed the vets, replaced them w/ sub-average players, & failed to draft, develop, or trade for a quality core.
@SalatapNagol15@aaronsnearly@CubsGuy37 Did he really say that? I doubt it. In 2019, Schwarber hit 38 HRs & had an .871 OPS. In the 2020 COVID year, Schwarber played poorly but still - in his worst 59 games as a pro - had a .701 OPS. In 11 season, Schwarber has a career avg of .853; .816 as a Cub! That’s not nostalgia.
@CGasparino Well, Trump brought up the notion that California’s election was stolen — all on his own. When confronted if he had any evidence, he pivoted to claiming his own FBI agents directed rioters to mame and kill capitol police. Seems like that was worth a follow up question too.
@MartinOMalley@SSWorks In the pre-Trump days, the Biden run SSA ran a competent administration and there were no 116+ year olds receiving disability benefits. Even DOGE had to admit that was true. If Trump is to be believed, there has been a recent massive influx of fraud under the noses of his shills!
