You’re mistaking cause for effect.

It wasn’t capitalism that built public schools, scholarships, and community centers.

It was the constant pressure of labor, of unions, of movements that forced the state to concede just enough to prevent revolt.

Capitalism did not fund your education out of kindness.

It funded it because an uneducated workforce was bad for profit.

Capitalism did not fund your scholarships out of generosity.

It funded them because empire needed engineers, soldiers, and bureaucrats to maintain the machine.

Capitalism did not fund community centers out of compassion.

It funded them to keep people just healthy and stable enough to keep working.

Every gain you listed, from schools to disability programs, came from struggle, not benevolence. And every one of those gains is being eroded the moment people stop fighting for them.

Just look at the U.S. today: public schools are gutted, scholarships buried in debt, social programs slashed. Community is collapsing under the weight of profit.

That’s capitalism.

It only "gives" when it fears the people might take.

And as someone from Vietnam, I can tell you this: our schools, our hospitals, our social programs were built under bombs, blockades, and sanctions.

They were not gifts from capital.

They were built because the people decided they would exist, even in the ruins of war.

Cuba and North Korea are the same.

They have never been allowed the luxury of peace or normal trade.

They survive under permanent siege.

The fact they endure at all says more about their resilience, and about the power of solidarity, than about capitalism’s supposed generosity.
