A skydiver outside a Beechcraft C90 King Air captured the plane stalling and spinning right next to them during a jump run at 16,000 ft over Mossel Bay, South Africa in October 2021.

Too many jumpers hanging in the “float” position outside the door shifted the center of gravity aft and blanked airflow over the left horizontal stabilizer. The nose pitched up past the elevator’s authority, the wing dropped, and it entered a spin. The pilot (who later posted a detailed account) cut power, centralized the controls, applied opposite rudder, and recovered cleanly. Plane and all the jumpers made it back fine.

The camera work is insane, steady, composed, and somehow still framing the aircraft while everything is going sideways.

One of those rare “you had to see it to believe it” aviation/skydiving moments.

Under a mile of Antarctica’s ice there is a landscape frozen in time….

Deep beneath the East Antarctic ice sheet, scientists have uncovered a vast, ancient landscape the size of Maryland that has remained untouched for 34 million years.

In a remarkable discovery within the Wilkes Land region, researchers have used satellite observations and ice-penetrating radar to map a hidden prehistoric world buried under more than a mile of ice. This 12,000-square-mile terrain features massive highland blocks and valleys nearly 4,000 feet deep, carved by ancient rivers long before the continent froze over. Scientists believe this region once enjoyed a much warmer climate, likely supporting lush forests and diverse life forms before it was sealed away from sunlight tens of millions of years ago.

What makes this find particularly significant is its pristine condition. While most glaciers erode the land beneath them as they shift, the ice in this specific area has remained exceptionally cold and slow-moving, preserving the landscape as a geological time capsule. This stability provides a rare opportunity for future exploration; researchers are now planning to drill through the ice to collect ancient soil samples. These organic materials could offer critical clues about Earth’s past climate and the historical formation of the Antarctic ice sheet, revealing secrets hidden in a world we are only beginning to understand.

In 1985, Air Force Captain Gary Eastburn returned from training to discover his wife and two young daughters had been brutally mu*dered in their North Carolina home, while his 22-month-old daughter had survived alone inside for days.

Instead of using a traditional slogan-based approach, Dalí relied on his surrealist style and the optical illusion technique known as the paranoiac-critical method to deliver the message.

At first glance, the artwork appears to depict two women wearing stockings and garter belts standing beneath a glowing structure. However, when viewed from a distance, the image reveals a hidden human skull. The women’s heads become the skull’s eye sockets, while their legs create the appearance of teeth, forming a disturbing visual connection between sexual temptation, illness, and mortality.

By using a striking psychological image designed to engage the subconscious, the Army aimed to make its warning more memorable to soldiers than conventional wartime health campaigns.

🚨‼️ Four teenagers ages 14 to 19, all from the suburbs, are dead ☠️ in Chicago, after the pickup truck they were joyriding in fled from the police three times early Sunday and launched off a Southwest Side viaduct in Chicago.

According to radio traffic, the encounters started about 90 minutes earlier in Morgan Park. Officers reported that someone in a Chevy pickup pointed a rifle 🤦‍♂️ at them near 112th and Bishop around 12:44 a.m.

The driver sped off and entered inbound I-57. As officers approached Halsted, a supervisor ordered the pursuit called off for safety reasons.
