@WyattCatarina And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast,
& kneeled down, & prayed,
Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me:
nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven,
strengthening him. Luke 22.
Isaiah 58 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet,
& shew my people their transgression, & the house of Jacob their sins.
Yet they seek me daily, & delight to know my ways,
as a nation that did righteousness,
& forsook not the ordinance of their God:
they ask of me the ordinances of justice;
they take delight in approaching to God.
Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not?
wherefore have we afflicted our soul, & thou takest no knowledge?
Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, & exact all your labours.
Behold, ye fast for strife & debate, & to smite with the fist of wickedness:
ye shall not fast as ye do this day,
to make your voice to be heard on high.
@sarahsalviander But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,
I am the God of Abraham, & the God of Isaac, & the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. Matthew 22.
@PaulEmbery For then shall be great tribulation,
such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time,
no, nor ever shall be.
And except those days should be shortened,
there should no flesh be saved:
but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. Matthew 24.
@JChimirie66677 Matthew 24:22 And except those days should be shortened,
there should no flesh be saved:
but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
Thus speaks the high & lofty One;
ye tribes of earth, give ear;
The words of your Almighty King
with sacred revβrence hear:
Amidst the majesty of heavβn
my throne is fixed on high;
And through eternity I hear
the praises of the sky:
Yet, looking down, I visit oft
the humble hallowed cell;
And with the penitent who mourn
βtis my delight to dwell;
The downcast spirit to revive,
the sad in soul to cheer;
And from the bed of dust the man
of heart contrite to rear.
With me dwells no relentless wrath
against the human race;
The souls which I have formed shall find
a refuge in my grace.
Paraphrase 27/Isaiah 57.
Luke 12:15 And he said unto them,
Take heed, & beware of covetousness:
for a man's life consisteth not
in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
I met my wife at work. We got stuck teaching at class together and then I realized how brilliant and funny she was.
I know soooo many people who met their partner at work--it's extremely common in academia.
I think there should be far less taboo around dating at work (as long as it's consensual & non-coercive, of course).

@NancyRPearcey I lead in the way of righteousness,
in the midst of the paths of judgment:
That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance;
& I will fill their treasures. Proverbs 8.
@father_rmv Isaiah 66:1 Thus saith the LORD,
The heaven is my throne, & the earth is my footstool:
where is the house that ye build unto me?
& where is the place of my rest?
@RichardDawkins John 10:10 The thief cometh not,
but for to steal, & to kill, & to destroy:
I am come that they might have life,
& that they might have it more abundantly.
@MrCasey62 But the path of the just is as the shining light,
that shineth more & more unto the perfect day.
The way of the wicked is as darkness:
they know not at what they stumble. Proverbs 4.
