Just going to put it out there but I don’t get the post-NQT acronyms (NQT+2, NQT+3, RQT). Having just finished my NQT year, I now just see myself as a teacher and if asked, a second year teacher #teacherpetpeeves#teacherproblems#nqt
Calling all PE leads- what have been your biggest successes in leading PE? What have been the biggest and craziest ideas that you’ve had that have worked? #pe#peleader#educhat
Mathematics, language, collaboration, wonder and even singing - all stemming from discovery within an open-ended environment. The ‘language’ of children ✅ over-planning and topics ❎ #keyu#eyfs#eytalking
At its core, Early Years should be about children finding their own path, creating their own adventure, dreaming their own dream, and making a way where the adults cannot see beyond their own tired and worn out maps...
Play hard ...

Get up, get out, get active. Children who fidget in classrooms need MORE outdoor play and movement, not less. Take note, school playtime snatchers! Behaviour consequences that involve losing playtime are counterproductive.
@lindseyfrostie Exploration and wonder are critical EY skills - a real balance in enabling this whilst developing language and understanding. Sometimes adults are too quick to step in? ⚖️

Great to see Andy Murray winning earlier! Also fantastic to see him support #TheDailyMile. @iCareCharity have their annual charity run coming up, while it is over a mile, it is for a great cause and you dont have to enter alone! #teamwork#purplerun#5k

I think the new ELGs at the moment seem like a positive thing: more specific and better preparation for Year 1. I believe that we can still deliver these new ELGs in a “true” Early Years way (whatever is “true”). However, still baffled by the lack of SSM & Technology #ELGsReview
@MissEYFS_ I couldn't agree with you more! I think it's so important that all teachers have a sound understanding of Early Years (and vice versa that EY teachers understand the other key stages). Also feel that Early Years is very open to interpretation...
