@Mzginpln @DavidHarrisNY What the Kurds do is a separate matter. My point was only that the hypocrisy stinks, especially from Muslim nations. FWIW, the Kurds cannot afford to wait for what they want. They need to seize it like their oppressors did before them, regardless of the cost.

These are footage from more than 20 years ago, when Kurds in Cizîra Botan (Cizre) were celebrating Newroz, facing repression, crackdowns, and arrests by Turkish soldiers.

And today, with complete audacity, the Turkish state officially celebrates Newroz and claims that it is a “Turkish holiday.”

Iranic = language/ethnic family, encompasses all;
Persian = specific Iranic people and language;
Kurds = another distinct Iranic ethnic group;
Iran / Iranians = the modern country and it's citizens

However, we need to appreciate politicians need to use different language given the platforms and audience they participate in. I share you concerns though.

What Israel wants and does is not a Kurdish issue, but Turkey lecturing on Palestinian rights, while directly denying the Kurds' theirs, is. Solve that conundrum.

Also, Kurds have been a target of genocide themselves e.g. Halabja, and their instinct for survive and desire for self-determination manipulated by others'
