Today, the European Union designated the IRGC as a terrorist organisation. Thank you to the EU and all member states who stood with the Iranian people and chose accountability over appeasement.

What this means in practice:
•IRGC assets can be frozen and IRGC-linked individuals face travel bans across the EU.
•It becomes illegal to fund, assist, or provide resources to IRGC-linked entities—raising the legal and financial cost for networks operating in Europe.
•Stronger basis for law enforcement cooperation, investigations, and prosecutions tied to IRGC activities and support structures in Europe.
•A global signal: the IRGC is treated not as a normal state actor, but as a transnational engine of terror and repression—increasing pressure and isolation internationally.

To every Iranian who has resisted, marched, documented crimes, and paid the price: this is your victory too.

Today, the regime in Iran executed Arvin Kheirkhah, a courageous young protester detained during Iran’s Lion and Sun National Uprising.

He was only 20 years old.

In his final conversation with his family, Arvin told them:

Other detainees from the Lion and Sun National Uprising, including Javad Ajam, Morteza Zamani, Mehdi Ranjar, Farshid Rahmani, Alireza Sagheri, and Pouya Sagheri, are also at risk of execution.

We must speak their names and raise our voices before it is too late.

The Islamic Republic is continuing its war on the people of Iran. But Iranians are fighting back.

Yesterday in Esfahan, citizens noticed the regime was preparing for a barbaric public execution. Reports circulated that the regime was set to hang three protesters from the January 8/9 uprising.

At dawn, hundreds of brave Iranians gathered in the square to protest this medieval brutality and public murder. They jeered and shouted at the executioners. Sadly as the call to prayer played, two young men were hung from cranes.

Security forces chased the protesters, firing on them with live ammunition, trying to kill more and more Iranians.

The murder of protesters and other political prisoners are often done in prisons. But the regime, fearing the Iranian people will rise against them, is conducting them in public in an attempt to intimidate them into silence.

Untold other brave protesters are currently facing a similar fate. Their lives hang in the balance.

This is two Irans: the vile and evil Islamic Republic against the brave and heroic people of Iran.

Iranians will not back down. They will fight. But they should not have to fight alone. The world must back these brave men and women.

A fourth young woman, Anahita Azarshab, was shot and killed for protesting the hangings.

I used to absolutely love Team Melli.

I can never root against Iran, but I feel numb when watching.

Some players are put in difficult positions. Some chose poorly, and some are just scumbags.

If only, they had showed solidarity to what happened, in being Iranian first.

Rashid Mazaheri is the REAL Iranian goalkeeper. Not the one chasing fame and money, but the one who stood with his people.

The regime arrested him for speaking out against the massacre of January 8-9. Because in their eyes, silence is the only acceptable price for wearing the national jersey.

We Iranians have a sacred word: Pehlivan (Pahlevan). It means hero, champion, noble warrior, patriot. For thousands of years, it belonged first to our wrestlers — the heart of Persian sport — but today it belongs to any athlete who carries the soul of Iran.

Before his arrest, Rashid Mazaheri delivered a message that will echo forever:
“Medals and performance do not make an athlete a Pehlivan. Standing with the people does.”
That is the standard. That is the measure.

Alireza Beiranvand knows this truth better than anyone. He has seen it. He understands it. Yet he chooses silence. Worse — he openly swears “by the blood of Khamenei” that he will not let the opponent score. He said it during the Iran vs New Zealand match. The joke writes itself.

While one goalkeeper risks everything for the blood of our youth soaked in the streets, the other endorses the very regime that spills it — all for a starting spot and regime favor.

This is not about goalkeeping. This is about sportswashing. This is about the Islamic Republic and the IRGC trying to use our national team to launder their crimes while our athletes are beaten and imprisoned for saying “enough”.

But the wall of fear has crumbled.

As his translated instagram post proudly says: The heirs of Cyrus, Darius, and Kaveh the Blacksmith are rising. Our roots are older than their whips and gallows. Our dignity is deeper than their tyranny.

Rashid Mazaheri is a Pehlivan.
Beiranvand is not.

We have not forgotten the path of a free and modern Iran.
We will no longer bow our heads.
