For three days in Tokyo, global leaders across AI, space, deep tech, policy, finance, and culture came together for The Frontier Tokyo 2026, hosted by Type One Ventures.
Held at Happo-en, this year’s summit explored the emergence of the Deep Tech SuperCycle shaped by AI, advanced computation, orbital infrastructure, autonomous systems, next-generation manufacturing, and shifting global capital markets.
Frontier brought together leaders from across the U.S., Europe, Japan, and APAC to discuss how we build the future responsibly, strategically, and collaboratively.
From conversations on AI infrastructure, space economies, quantum computing, and cross-border alliances to immersive experiences and private gatherings, Frontier was designed to bridge industries, geographies, and generations of leadership.
Tokyo felt especially symbolic, a city where nature and the machine coexist seamlessly.
Special thank you to the incredible speakers and thought leaders who joined us throughout Day 2: @dariusbutterfly, Zenia Tata, @Astro_Wakata, @KayFButterfield, Dr. Simran Chana, @pragmishra, @_ramsaybrown , @DeclanClowry, Dr. Shuichi Ichimura, Dr. Shinichi Takata, Mr. Takashi Yokoyama, and The Honorable Mr. Yuichiro Tamaki.
And to everyone who helped bring this experience to life, thank you. You are world-class.
See you at the next Frontier.

Reflecting on an incredible Day 1 that kicked off Frontier Summit Tokyo, the evening brought together founders, investors, innovators, policymakers, and industry leaders from around the world to connect, exchange ideas, and begin a week of meaningful conversations.
We’re proud to support our portfolio company, Cuby Technologies, as they redefine how the world builds. Through innovative micro-factories and advanced technology, they’re bringing scalable, efficient construction closer to where it’s needed most.

“Axiom Space is delivering the most advanced spacesuit ever built for human lunar exploration — and we’re doing it with the urgency the Artemis campaign demands. To date, we’ve logged more than 950 hours of crewed pressurized testing, completed the first thermal vacuum test of the pressure garment, and delivered over 1,300 products toward critical design review, which we’re on track to complete this year. We remain confident in our path to a 2027 demonstration and to supporting America’s return to the lunar surface in 2028.
We appreciate the OIG’s continued focus on strengthening NASA’s long-term approach to human spaceflight, and we share its commitment to mission success. It is a privilege to rebuild a sovereign U.S. spacesuit capability — one the nation has not updated for low-Earth orbit or lunar exploration in decades — and we are honored to do this work in partnership with NASA, as America prepares to return to the Moon.” - Dr. Jonathan Cirtain CEO and President #AxEMU

Ryan Kriser of Type One Ventures on Newsmax breaking down what’s next.
Conversations like Ryan’s are exactly what’s driving momentum into gatherings like IMPACT 250.
1/4 We led @GraviticsInc $20M seed in 2022 when everyone was chasing small sats and launchers. @SpaceNews_Inc just reported they're targeting 2027 for their first orbital carrier flight demo — $60M Space Force STRATFI in hand. Three years from seed to national security infrastructure. 🧵
Physical AI is the missing layer in the Type I stack.
Compute scaled. Models scaled. Energy is scaling.
The remaining bottleneck is hands — machines that can act on the world without a human in the loop. Robotics foundation models close that gap.
This is what we're funding.
Last week, @RyanKriser, Partner at Type One Ventures, sat down with @BiancaDLGarza on Newsmax to discuss the future of space.
As space shifts from the frontier to infrastructure, the question is no longer whether but how quickly it becomes core to global industry. 🚀🚀🚀

We are proud to have participated in this round. Congratulations to the @ScienceCorp_ team. Type One is excited about the company’s future and the impact ahead.
We’ve closed a $230 million Series C financing. The deal was oversubscribed with demand in excess of our capital needs, and brings the total capital invested into the company to approximately $490 million since our founding in 2021.

Our Frontier Summit lands in Tokyo this May 🇯🇵
We’re convening global leaders across AI, compute, space infrastructure, and deep technologies to explore how these fields are evolving into the foundational systems shaping the next phase of global industry.
Tokyo 2026. Stay Tuned.
Axiom Space has raised $350 million in a financing round to advance its commercial space station and next-generation spacesuits for NASA’s Artemis lunar missions. There's a lot of follow-on capital out there, but very few investors with the capability and conviction to be the first to write a large check into a new round.
I can say firsthand that @TarekWaked@AbdoJohnHajj and @TypeOneVC are the latter.
Very grateful for their partnership and trust.
It is an immense privilege, learning experience, and honor to be part of @Axiom_Space board of directors alongside Kam Ghaffarian and @AbdoJohnHajj. Today we are excited to announce the close of a $350M round that takes this company to the next level, literally.
This round, co-led by @TypeOneVC and Qatar Investment Authority, with strategic participation from global investors like 1789 Capital underscores the critical role commercial infrastructure plays in advancing humanity’s reach into space.
This is key infrastructure that will help humanity become a Type One Civilization.
For the United States, its allies, and the broader space ecosystem, building a successor to the International Space Station and next-generation spacesuits isn’t just an engineering milestone, it’s a strategic imperative that strengthens American leadership in low-Earth orbit and accelerates innovation across science, manufacturing, and exploration.
Pushing the frontier of human spaceflight and orbital infrastructure is essential to our collective progress, and investments like this lay the foundation for decades of discovery, economic growth, and global collaboration.
Huge congrats to the team at Axiom on this next leap forward!
Ad Astra my friends.
