Tariff simulator is correct.

“As provided in heading 9903.05.86 [the exclusion], the [new 301 duties] shall not apply to articles that are classifiable in the following provisions of the HTSUS [. . .]

8517.62.00…”

China overall has a 12.5% additional duty from these 301s, but there are many excluded products.

This 8517.62.00 subheading has been excluded for a long time from any of the extra tariffs. It was excluded form the 122 tariffs, from half of the 20% China had under IEEPA. In fact, this was also in the original exemptions from IEEPA duties on liberation day 4/2/2025 last year.
