Week 2 of a Sunday night tradition:
Look back/look forward.
Look back to what you learned this week.
Look ahead to goals in the next.
With a beer on the porch.
Look back: communicate with clarity.
Look ahead: health goals
Beer: Ferndale Project Raspberry Confetti Sour
Disappointments are often huge opportunities for resets.
Realignments.
Repositioning.
Growth.
New things.
The next level, the next step.
A return to values.
And to who you really are.
Look for the opportunity.
The saddest part of politics isnโt disagreement - itโs moral condemnation. Disagreement is one thing. Dehumanization is another. No matter what the media or celebrities say, someone voting a certain way does not automatically make them evil, hateful, or heartless. On either side.
Today I was reminded of the power of โand.โ That 2 things can be simultaneously true.
Someone can help many people and have also caused significant pain.
Struggle with sin and do good.
Be your political opposite and be a good person.
We have to stop painting people in extremes.
I love Mondays because they always feel like a fresh start.
Itโs never too late to:
- Refresh your priorities
- Decide whatโs healthier
- Realign with your values
- Ditch fear
- Dump toxic
- Choose love
Every day can be a fresh start.
Every day can be a Day One.
View from the campground. Last night of vacation, spending it in Montana. Met so many great people on this trip - there truly are such good people everywhere. โค๏ธ
Things I have never felt following a Facebook debate:
- better about myself
- peaceful
- more connected to the other person
- a significant altering of my views
- productive
- happy
Facebook debates are a pointless waste of the good
Your potential is astounding.
You have power to bring life, to tend wounds, to empower strength, to inspire determination, to start reconciliation, to infuse hope, to shower love.
Speak life.
Forgive.
Shred the list of wrongs done to you.
Be grateful.
Love.
I miss my mom checking St. Louis weather forecast from afar, and letting me know we have flood warnings. Which is pretty much the whole spring here. She was such an amazing ladyโฆ
Super afraid of flying.
Even though I fly at least a dozen times a year.
Currently on a flight home to St. Louis, hearing about the Philly plane crash tonight.
And wishing I could make myself pass out for the next 2 hours.
