@CrossLab_Purdue had a great time hanging out with repro biologists at @SSRepro for the first time! Our abstract was rated exceptional and programmed as an oral presentation. PhD student Anna Clapp Organski was a finalist in the pre-doctoral poster competition and won 3rd place🥳
I am increasingly frustrated by comments I am seeing coming back on trainee grants (K99 and K22)- not just my trainees, but others that I mentor. Almost every single one comments on the fact that a lot of the post-docs did not have a publication in the last couple of years. 1/
The Purdue Applied Microbiome Science (PAMS) Symposium truly appreciate the support from the @PurdueHHS and Interim ADR @KBuhman for the amazing closing remarks! We are excited to move the microbiome work at Purdue and the Midwest forward! @Boilermicrobes@LifeAtPurdue
Coauthor in Europe: I'm giving birth in a month, so I won't be able to work on this for the next 4 months.
Coauthor in the US: I'm giving birth tomorrow but let me know if you need me to join the meeting via Zoom.

@PatriciaGWolf1@KateClancy Sadly I do not, but sounds like an interesting aspect that someone should be researching. I have thought about perimenopausal transition for transgender population but never looked into it deeply.
Mild is a relative term. ZAF data from 56,164 Covid-19-related hospital found that the admission rate for children under the age of four was 49% higher during the Omicron wave than for Delta.

I’ve seen a lot of Covid in the ER recently.
With so many people getting infected recently, some folks may wonder what’s the point of getting vaccinated at all?
And is there really any value to a booster dose if I’ve had two Pfizer/Moderna or a shot of J&J?
My observations: 🧵
