Researchers from @UCSDMedSchool found that Mindfulness-Oriented Recovery Enhancement (MORE) can help rewire the brain’s response to natural healthy pleasure, leading to reduced opioid cravings. MORE could be a promising tool in the fight against #OpioidUseDisorder.
3/3: What is MORE? MORE, a program developed by @DrEricGarland at @UCSDMedSchool, is an evidence-based therapy that integrates #mindfulness training, #CBT, and positive psychology to address addiction, emotional distress and chronic pain simultaneously. https://t.co/ULfcE1Tlov
2/3: For every $1 spent on MORE therapy, there are $798 in estimated cost savings in the prevention of fatal #OUD overdoses, reduced #healthcare costs, decreased criminal justice involvement, and increased labor productivity. Learn more about MORE: https://t.co/ymBX9YCCFH

ONE IN 10 PATIENT SAFETY INCIDENTS ARE CAUSED BY POOR COMMUNICATION
See our latest paper from Annals of Internal Medicine
https://t.co/2BdX8SqaAS
- Our study had data from 67 826 patients
- Poor communication is the only identified cause of 1 in 10 patient safety incidents
- Poor communication is a contributory (one among many) cause of 1 in 4 patient safety incidents
We also know from our other research that good communication can be taught.
