This large buoy washed up at Kimmeridge, #Dorset recently having been lost by Marcel Vacon, a #Newfoundland lobster fisherman around 3 years ago. What a journey! It picked up hitchhikers in the form of #goosebarnacles #NorthAtlanticDrift #MarineLitter @LitterFreeCoast @DWTMarine

Dear @SharkTrustUK, this egg case was found on #Tiree and the photo was forwarded to me by @martyfinnigan. Mostly, large egg cases found here are from the Flapper Skate - but could this be a White Skate? I note their limited range?

@RobGMacfarlane Spring arrives earlier in the rock pools than on land. I've never seen cat shark hatchlings in February before, but it's usually too stormy to access the lower shore.
