Do Not Buy Ego Products, They Will Not Honor Your Warranty.

Several years ago, we got an Ego battery powered mower.

Great tool if not revolutionary. Still works.

Then we got an Ego battery powered pole saw.

Great tool if not revolutionary. Still works.

Then we got the Ego weed-eater and edge trimmer. The greatness stops and the tool starts having problems and then fails.

The split-shaft connection and coupling joint uses substandard metallurgy between the battery driver and the accessory tool with a supremely weak junction between the two to drive the rotating shaft. The coupling joint literally smokes. It failed and continues to fail. We quite literally bought this combo on Memorial Day and it starting failing in two weeks.

We got the Ego three year warranty and they refuse to honor the defective product at Lowes without a return authorization. Ego refuses to issue a return authorization. A number of phone calls with the insufferable warranty team at Ego yields no joy. After several calls, they even lose the evidence the initial calls and case number was filed.

Until they fix their horrifically unresponsive and stonewalling warranty guarantees and terrible customer service, I caution everyone NOT to buy their product.

In America, if you make a product and back it with a terrific warranty, you will be printing money.

In America, if you make a product and refuse to honor your warranty, the word will spread and people will avoid your product like the plague.

PSA to Ego: Honor your warranty claims.
