What does it mean that nearly 60% of Rwanda is under 25? Youth mental health isn't niche, it's national. "Stay Healthy" includes the mind, not just the body. You can't get empowered or go big otherwise. Ask a young person how they're really doing today. #InternationalYouthDay

Happy Umuganura! @unicefrw joined @IntekoyUmuco and @RusiziDistrict for the 2026 National Umuganura celebrations, reaffirming our partnership with the @RwandaGov. Sharing milk with children, a gesture of care as we aim for 15% stunting by 2029, one harvest at a time.
Six things @WHO and @UNICEF are asking of every country this week: stronger health systems, community counselling, marketing rules enforced, paid leave, care integrated from pregnancy onward, and support that holds even in crisis. Fairly short list. Big impact. #WBW2026
On August 5, Amb. GAO Wenqi, at the inviation of Ms. @LiekevandeWiel, UNICEF Country Representative to Rwanda @unicefrw, visited #Gicumbi#ECD Centre, supported by Chinese government through Global Development and #SouthSouthCooperation Fund.
They were warmly recieved by Mayor NZABONIMPA and local community, and briefed on how this signature tripartite cooperation project has helped local children.
Yesterday, @LiekevandeWiel alongside @Rwanda_Child DDG @gmunyemana accompanied the @ChinaEmbinRW Amb H.E. GAO Wenqi on a visit to Rushaki cross-border ECD Centre in @Gicumbi_Rwanda.
Together, we're expanding quality ECD services so every child gets the best start in life. 🇷🇼🇨🇳

As a parent, I am delighted to attend the 18th National Children Summit at the @RwandaParliamnt, where children from across the country are gathering to share their ideas, aspirations, and solutions under the theme, "I am the Future." Their voices matter because they are helping shape 🇷🇼Rwanda's tomorrow. Thanks @Rwanda_Child for the invitation. #EjoNiNjye
Global exclusive breastfeeding rose from around 37% in 2012 to over 47%. Rwanda's already at 81.8%, among the highest in the world. Not sheer willpower but paid leave, nursing breaks, health workers reaching mothers within hours of birth. We build the system, we get the outcome.
