High Commissioner H.E. Mr. Amararam Gujar received a delegation led by Mr. Deodat Maharaj, Managing Director of United Nations Technology Bank (UNTB) at the High Commission. Mr. Maharaj briefed the High Commissioner on various projects which are under consideration with the UNTB to implement in Malawi and sought Government of India's support particularly in low-cost technology with high impact project. Discussions also centered around exploring possibilities in capacity building, technology sharing and sustainable development of Malawi in its priority areas.

Opening remarks are underway at the official launch of Malawi’s Technology Needs Assessment (#TNA) in #Lilongwe.
George Vakusi, PhD, Deputy Director, DSTI, opened the session by welcoming participants and setting the tone for a high-level discussion on science, technology and innovation as key enablers of Malawi’s development agenda.
He was followed by Hon. Francis Foley, M.P., Deputy Minister of Education, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, who underscored Government’s commitment to leveraging evidence-based planning to advance Malawi 2063 and highlighted the importance of the TNA in identifying priority technology gaps and opportunities across key sectors including agriculture, energy, ICT and mining.
