The reality is that if you come from a physician family, you will have a place in medicine as long as you finish and it’s almost impossible to not finish in those cases. Medicine respects medicine and medicine alone. There’s no guarantee for anyone else and it’s crushing.

It’s also growing up without a safety net financially and then taking out this much in loans - the pressure for every exam, every situation hits different. Having physician parents and family removes so much of the stress. It’s also access to resources, connections, opportunities

This year was long but a good one. Happy to have graduated and matched. I have been working HARD since starting residency, but my wish for 2024 is to continue to grow in my field and to also form new habits, friendships, and be the most authentic self I can be! #NewYear2024
