@olivertraldi Overall the Cornell situation seems like a very weird situation of a girl looking to join a throuple (based on the subsequent texting) so naturally we will all wildly overextrapolate based on one extreme edge case; in its inexplicably it lets us project whatever we want onto it
@olivertraldi We have a problem with terminology. “Dating” is over-broad in that it includes everything from trying to get laid this week to trying to get married this year. When men say they are struggling with “dating” they (often) mean struggling to getting laid. Women don’t mean that.
@olivertraldi No, it was slowly eroded at. We used to ban test drives altogether. Then we all agreed, well don’t BOTH parties need more information before commitment? But that only works if both sides are doing due diligence. It fails when men are scamming for free rides.
@olivertraldi But it’s not. The power that women have is to withhold sex. The power that men have is to withhold commitment. It’s selling a car; sex is the test drive. You’re supposed to test drive once we are ready to negotiate a sale. But hookup culture turns test drives into free Ubers.
My experience is that they “haven’t found” their wife because they’re looking for dates and not partners. Which is why they spend so much time complaining about what sex workers are doing (eg getting flown out to athletes). They’re mad about how hard it is to get laid, not how hard it is to find a wife.
@ElizabethGMat Ok well as for amusement parks, it’s a scam. I’m bringing the stroller to cart around the drinks, snacks, purchases, bags. I don’t want to haul a backpack with everything 3 kids need all day on and off of rides.
@mingodoo@lonestarpirate@emzanotti I’m sorry that your training failed you, but whether or not you were trained properly, this is in fact what HIPAA allows.
@lonestarpirate@emzanotti That is not accurate. I have no idea if this call is real or not but revealing whether someone is in a hospital or not, eg by including their name and room number in a patient directory, is not a violation of HIPAA. That’s how you can find grandma when she’s admitted.
@JohnRHuffman@RossSchumann I think you already know that if you called and asked if your loved one was admitted or discharged, HIPAA doesn’t prevent you from discovering that information.
@olivertraldi@dyingscribe They would have been if you had gotten married 10 years ago. Everyone keeps delaying marriage while they acquire new and worse neuroses and then wonder why dating is so hard
